Greetings from berlin!Having a fab time staying in a squat (again) in the old eastern side of the divide with my punk friend franzi, her English girlfriend Lindsay and a crazy (n slightly scary Marlene Dietrich drag quuen by the name of Punchen - which, strangely and inexplicably, means little dot). Ther is also a fat tabby cat called Mr Jones (and yes, we've got a thing goin on). LOL Well at least I thought it was funny. Unfortunately it was lost on everyone else as AMerican Defence Forces Radio only played rocknroll, apparantly - no soul music! There are more punk artist type dudes and dudessess living on the other three floors. My light and airy room has three large windows looking out at a strip of parkland that used to be no mans land. The building was empty and derilict for 50 years as it was too close ot the wall to be occupied. Squatted soon after the wall came down the new Berlin administration put up the cash for the renovation and it is now a community space. The first night I arrived is the regular Thursday night Performance night with (vegan) dinner provided by the people“s kitchen. Tommorow (Sunday) is queer/transgender night so needless to say will be hanging around for that!Went out last night and saw an out there queer electro band from brisbane by the nam e o f Plastic Fantastic. the wearing of short shorts was a requiremetn and my Broncos s horts, when combined with my Inala Stylin Up Tshirt ensured free entry. They all seemed a littel homesick for BrisV! Was Folson europe this weekend so thousands of leater clad beary beardy men from all over Europe and America in town. Went to the Friday night Pig party in a n old power station (incredible venue but instead of the usual three dancefloors n one sex room it was one dancefloor and well you can guess). It was quite a spectacle. Also a street fair on Saturday and another fetish party last night. Did the street party but had enough hair n leather by then n went to aforementioned fashion fag do.Had a good few days in Amsterdam tho a bit of a mega rock stadium experience with both Radiohead (a long held goal) and Pearl Jam concerts on the agenda. My Aus mate who loives here was into this sort of fun n I was happy to tag along. The mushroom omelette I had certainly blurred the tiome there somewaht - was that 4 nights or five? Before that London was ok - a bit sold, resold, tarted up, gentrified, repackaged and franchised but seeing my sis (n meeting here new man) was great. certainly glad to be here in Berlin which is heaps cheaper (comprable to Sydney or even less expensive) and bursting with genuine vibiness and creativity. Here til the 19th then Paris and Limoges so will try to write again
